From the early days of the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979 some revolutionary youths and true followers of Imam Khomeini founded Guardian Corps by a decree from Imam. In a decree to Islamic Revolution Council on April 22, 1979, Imam Khomeini officially declared foundation of this institute. With acceleration of counterrevolutionary groups’ conspiracies in such regions as Kurdistan, Khuzestan, and Gonbad, Guardian Corps was mobilized to confront them, especially in Kurdistan where armed rebellions were concentrated in Kurdish-inhabited mountainous areas, this institute strenuously resist counterrevolutionaries. During the Iraqi imposed war on Iran, the Guardian Corps marked the most luminous era of its life. Although the Guardian Corps is of military nature, but it’s only one of its aspects; according to Article 150 of the Constitution, the Guardian Corps is charged with guarding the Islamic Revolution and its achievements in any situation and serving the Islamic system in various spiritual, military, scientific, and … aspects.
